By default, Tars acts as a high-fidelity Personal Assistant. Since it lives in Discord, your assistant is available from your desktop, tablet, or smartphone without additional configuration.

Persistent Memory

Tars remembers every fact, preference, and instruction you provide. If you specify a preference for a specific tech stack, deployment strategy, or even your local time zone, Tars records these as Core Facts. Every future interaction applies this context automatically, so you never have to repeat yourself.

Autonomous Task Execution

Unlike traditional chatbots, Tars doesn’t wait for you to start the conversation. Its internal heartbeat allows it to manage time-sensitive operations autonomously:

User: "Remind me in 2 hours to check the staging logs."
Tars: "✅ Scheduled. I'll message you once the time has elapsed."

Tars manages its own schedule and will proactively message you in Discord when the task is complete.

Integrated Computing

Tars operates with the same permissions as your local user account. This gives it the power to:

• Manage Code: Clone repositories, draft patches, and run build scripts.
• System Automation: Create calendar entries, draft emails, or organize local files.
• Incident Analysis: Monitor logs and provide high-level summaries of system errors.

Mobile Command Center

Start a complex debugging session on your phone while commuting. Tars can pull the relevant logs, identify the bug, and prepare a fix. By the time you reach your desk, the solution is ready for your final review.
